The filer and the reported owner can differ
A financial disclosure filed under a public official’s name can contain transactions attributed to a family member. Preserve the ownership label in the original document. The name at the top of a report is not a reason to rewrite every transaction as the official’s personal trade.
For the collected Pelosi report, the two historical sale records in this edition are marked SP. They should remain attributed to the spouse in a quotation. The site does not infer who selected a security, placed an order or advised on a trade.
Read each row as a transaction
The cited filing describes partial sales of Apple and NVIDIA shares dated December 31, 2024. These are historical transactions, not statements of what the family owns today. The original document contains other transactions; the two collected sales are a partial selection, not the entire report.
- Keep the original owner designation.
- Preserve the transaction type, including whether a sale is partial.
- Use the transaction date for the event and the filing date for publication timing.
- Retain the source’s amount range instead of choosing a midpoint.
A sale is not a remaining balance
Selling a stated number of shares does not establish how many shares remain. The report may not provide the opening position, and other events may occur outside the selected record. Do not subtract a sale from an assumed account size.
A careful caption can explain that a spouse reported a historical partial sale, state the disclosed amount range and link to the filing. It should not convert that report into a current holdings table.
Before reusing disclosure material
Check the official access and use conditions for the source and your intended publication. Public availability, permission to inspect a report and permission for a particular commercial use are separate questions. This local research edition does not declare those questions resolved by attaching a source link.
Follow the evidence
References support the source definitions and dated examples. They do not establish private account access or permission to reproduce an entire external publication.
